Those who know Michael Seater personally know him as they guy who loves the movie Grease and who enjoys taking the time to listen to some good old funk music.
His ideal vacation would be hitting the waves in Australia and he has two dogs. Their names are Joe and Cricket. Those who do not know Michael Seater personally will say that he is a Canadian born actor who has shown Hollywood that he has a lot of potential.
His full given name is Michael Bruce Patrick Seater, which was given to him when he was born in Toronto on January 15, 1987. If you hear his friends call out to him, you might hear "Mikey" or "McDikel" as those are the nicknames his friends use for him. Even with over twenty television shows to his name as an actor and even a few episodes that were written by him, he remains a fun and laid back kind of person.
One of his newest and most talked about projects would be that of "18 to Life" in which he plays the character Tom Bellow. He stays in the series for a total of six episodes. One might think that brief television appearances are not enough to get you noticed, but that would be a totally wrong line and thinking and Seater has proven that time and time again.
While he has yet to win, Seater has been nominated for awards that prove that he carries a name that will soon be known by everyone. Back in 2006, Seater was nominated for two awards for his work on "Life with Derek". The Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble Performance in a TV Series and a Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children's or Youth Program were almost won by him.
Then, in 2008, Seater was presented with another nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Guest Role Dramatic Series. This was again a Gemini award but this time it was for his role in the show "ReGenesis". It is easy to see that this is certainly not the end of the nominations and hopefully, there will be more wins in his future.
Acting is not all that this young talent gets involved with. He has also stepped up and wrote two episodes of "life with Derek" and one episode of "Family Biz". With such great successes, there is no telling just how much more involved Seater will become with the writing aspect of television.
